Three repair units have been sent out from Hsiaofengman to restore power transmission lines.. Tic first unit, under the direction of CHOU Yu-lin ( v. --), is restoring the lines between Hsiaofengraan and Harbin; the second unit, between Hsiaofengman and Huapichang (126-13,43-59); the third unit, between Hsintofeng man and Tunghua. 3. On 25 r-pril 1948.a mee;.Ing of 21 new employees of the plant was held in the #1 and #4 generator rooms. The meeting was addressed by a Japanese engineer, who is in charge of the technical operation of the plant. The engineer gave a brief history of the plant, stating that formerly there had been eight water power generators of German and American design at the plant. Five of the eight generators had been completely installed by august 1945. Each generator was capable of furnishing 70,000 kilowatts,, The five generators in operation in august 1945 were sufficient to supply the power needs of Kirin, Uhongchun, Harbin and the industrial areas of South )anchuria. The #2 and #3 generators were of German design. Chinese Communist officials at the plant have been ordered to give highest priority to the repair of the two generators. The damage is not regarded as serious.
