The Chine Communism Federation (Chung Kuo Rung Chtan Chu I 'rung Men2/112

of the so-called Fourth International in China. The Federation's influence is
not very great in China and its organization is secret, The predecessor of the
Federation was thotancel Clique (Chu Helen luai/)._ fl AC) Of the late
)1gll'ENTu-haiu, established in December 1929 shortly after OWEN was purged from

In 1921 CJ-PEN Tu-hsiti (1- IC ) founded the Chinese Communiet Party ehioh
was financed by the Third international- From 1921 to 1927 MEN led the Party
and served as Chairmen of the Presidium of the Politburo and as Secretary- C'eneral
of the Cori Communist Party. In 1927 Stalin accused CIPEN of being an
"opportunist and stubbornly disobedient to the Third International", Soon after
this, CE'EN was removed from all important p(x4t5 in the Party and im 1927 he was
?purged. In 1929 CE'EN organized the Cancel Clique which the CCP claimed as a
Trotskyist organisation; the Clique existed for about a year In )932 CH'EN was
arrested by the Kuomintang; he was released in 1937. After he was released,
WEN Li-fu (At A /powerful chief of the rightist Kuomintang CC Clique)
suggested that GWEN Tu-hoin observe the CCP secretly, CH'EN Tu-hsiu requested
the CCP to resume his membership hut this request was rejected by MAO Tee-twyg
who said "Let MEN Tu-hsiu wait for another tun years." At this time the CC?

and joined the CCP under CH'EN Tu-heiu., Then JEN went to France as a laborer and
studied there at the same time as CHOU En -lei. After returning to China from
France, JEN was called to Seechuan by CHANG Lan, who was then Preaident of Chenete
University and JEN was rade Secretary and Professor of the eniversity, Later
JEN was aproented by the CCP to study in SUN Mt-sen CnIversity in Moscow, where
he stayed for more than three years. He then returnee to China and became the
CCP Secretary-General of Huh and Hunan Pro/areas, ehovt 1927 JEN was arrested
by the Kuomintane and sentenced to death; two texts did nct kill him?he retarded
to be dead and then escaped in the night. Not loeg after this attempt to execute
