STATE WAR NAVY
1. The arrival of five hundred Soviet families in Weimar from Karlshorst was 50M-HUM,
announced for 16 - 17 August. About five hundred individuals (not families)
did actually arrive. It is not known whether they are to remain permanently,
in Weimar. All Germans employed in the so-called "Russen-yiertsl" in Weimar
have to leave the area nightly at 1900 hours.

2a A course in Rnglish is being given in the Ponndorf Hams in Weimar. About rhi,
officers, mostly of company grade. but ii.th some field officers, as, well a;
two women, are participating in the course which is to last one month,,
3, The Soviet staff in the former Panzerkaserne in Jenaerstrasee is known as
Armeaat b I. Major General Kolesnichenko appeared to have an office. there,
In the Sophienkrankenhaus there is a staff called Armeestab II< Col General
Boldin is believed to work there.
4. A Soviet captain from Kolesnichenko?s staff stated recently that Kolesnichenko
had Just returned from Moscow where he had been present at diecaeaions re-
garding a change in the zonal frontiers in Germany. The question of a Soviet
evacuation of Thuringia seems to have been discussed and the proposal ap-
parently aroused little opposition.
, A completely eouipped and very long ambulance train is standing on a side line
Just west of the main station in Weimar.
6. Soviet officers hiring furniture in Weimar insist that tho contract should only
be for two months.
7. The Soviet Cards troops in Weimar still weer the thirds badge.
