the spring of 1946 together with several 20-ton cranes.
Power: Electricity is supplied from Chelyabinsk, but current is frequently inter-
rupted for several hours at a time for unknown reasons.
400 tons of peat are consumed every 24 hours ..r.. the forge-riervicing section.
This fuel furnishes the necessary gas for the furnaces. -oat is brought to
the factory by rail f.?om Pervo'uralsk.
Transportation: The factory has an extensive network of narrow and. wide gauge rail
lines connecting the different sections and leading; to the
Pero'luralsk railroad station. Approximately :30 locomotives are
in constant usa0
Employment: Constructed in 1941, the factory is still expanding. As of July 1946
all sections were operating at full stre:sgth, with a total of 14,000
workers employed in three 8-hour shifts.

t=a scellaneous: The oxygen-tank section is reported b;r several Subsources to
produce 6 carloads of metal tubes eve--y 24 hours. The tubes are
out with oxy-acetylene torches into pieces ranging from 40 to
150cm in length and are subsequently .processed in other sections.
Each section of the factory has a distinctive entry permit;visiting
among the sections is prohibited.
