1. Radu Badisteanua a member of the moderate faclion of the Iron Guard, maintains
his criticism of the radical Leg:Ladd- led by Herta Sima and now
by Niculescu Patrascu., as well as of the rightist group which is headed by
Rorie Comanciu who joined the National Peasant Party in 1944. Patraacuts
group forma the extreme Left in the Iron Guard while COMA:1431 BM Ids followers
make up the extreme Right.
2. It is said that Patraecu pretends td syucathize with the present regime and
with the Comm:lists, but that he is really "sabotaging" them as much &El
possible. Patrascu.,L agents have allegzdly penetrated Communist c
and organizations. Ludiateanu feels that Patrascuis "double game" is dangerous
and will eventually result in mass reprisals against all Iron Guardists.

3. According toBualisteanu the Rigatiat faction and Comanciugs activity in
the National Peasant Pa!rtya:ee also a source of danger to the Iron Guard.
The "shock troop" of too National Peasant Party are formed rweinly by
Comanciula adherents who belonged to the clanetestice Sumenele Negro
(Black Coate). Comarciu:s connection iritt this latter oraanization may also
offer the Rumanian Siaurantaa (secret police) the opportunity for wholesale
arrests of Iron Guaro Legionnaires.
11. Budisteanu also disapproves of Alexandra. Cons former Undersecretary for
Propaganda and Professor P. P. Paaaitescup fo 4."-bsin of the University
of Bucharest and editor of Cuvantal both leading lmoderate Legionnal,res re-
presenting the "center". Birarar-anu thinks that Constant and panel:beam
exaggerate their loyalty to the Goviarnmont. constant has persuaded his
friends to join the Plowmen's Front :With him.
5. Prime Minister Petra :Irma is said to have asked Budistepru jpo resim his
political life and to join one of, the Government parties. Budistes4a, however,

before acting.
