The airfield is locitved just southeast of the town Sudamrs. It is bounded on
,.the south by the Vic" pest railway, on the east by the h4ghray to
Budapest and on the -rest by streetcar tracks running into Budaora.,
2. ItescriPtion

The field is 1200 m. x, 800 m. in size,, surfaced with sand and gravel, and
has a 500 m. x50 m. concrete apron extending from the main hangar on the
mouth side of the fie' d to the headquarters building in the southeast corner.
No concrete rnumnays ?usre seen. The entire field is surrounded by barbed
wire and guarded by :,entries. The guard house is located next to the
h eadquartesrs building.

around light/; are installed around the field at an average distance of
about 100 m. from each other. The installations on the south side of the
f seld maurr`. red warning lights. A searchlight is located in each corner
of the ficsid.
Tower,
Two operations towers were observed., of which one is a captured German:
mobile station; the other tower is located about 150 m. east of the air
field, and did not appear to be in use.

On the roof of the headquarters building.

About 70 m. long, 15 m. high, and 140 s:. wide, it has two sliding doors

Motor-Pool

This was formerly used as hangar for privately-.awned sport planes. It is
located at the southwest corner of the field. It is reported that a r tom;

Three Soviet soldiers were seen carrying machine gun a}mmni.tion from
the dump to planes on the field.

This consists of a two-story building located opposite the two-story head--.
ij building and about 50 m. east of concrete highway leading to
-J,About 300 Soviet troops are,:,)elioee ' to be stationed there. Soviet
uota are said to be billeted in Budaors.
lli. Activity on the Air Field
It was estimated that about 100 Soviet YAK 9's were parked in formation
along the west side of the field, and about 60 LA-7's and 36 IL-2's were
observed in the southwest area of the field. Four Hungarian-Owned J1-52
transports were standing on the east side of the field near the highway,
together with one Fieseler-Storch reconnaissance plane. Because of
poor flying weather all planes were grouxled.
