VO N,-en-GisE, Minister of National DefenVo? was born in 1912
T7F4ua6i-Zarih in Anne's,. He came from a family of fcrmers.
He got hi s Bachelor's degree and then became a Doctor of Law
at the Universite Iddochinoise in 1937. He was a professor
of history in a private school at Thong-Long.
'ahen war broke out, VO Nguyen-Giap went to Russia where he
attended several specialised schools and studied revolutionary
tgitation. He net HO Chi Minh in China then he got Ir.Pck
rrom Moscow and too7s. part with him in the meetings at Tsin
PU (Chin-chi?) where he participated in the formation of
the unified Revolutionary- Front and rallied to the Viet
rinh plviexam.
VO went back to indo China in 19h4 at head of guerrillas
in tha Caobang sector of upper Tong and laid the
eoundwork for a gereraii4ed subvsrsion by aampaigns of

He was vice president of the Viet Nam delegation to the
Conference at Dalat.
