Approval of Minutes 23 February 1955 Meeting (IAC-M-185) Approved as written with the exception of item 3 "24-Hour Watch for the Indications Center of the IAC Watch Committee" for which the State member circulated a proposed revision. Consideration of this item was deferred pending study of the proposed text by the members and the return of General Cabell, Chairman of the Watch Committee of the IAC. 2. Semi-Annual Status Report for the NSC on the Foreign Intelligence Program (IAC-D-55/8, 24 February 1955) Approved as amended. 4. Proposal for a Survey of NIE Use (IAC-D-94, 15 February 1955) Approved. The Chairman welcomed the assistance and participation of the IAC agencies in undertaking the survey. It was agreed that the general line of inquiry and a representative list of persons to be interviewed would be prepared by the Board of National Estimates in consultation with the IAC members, and that the Board would also clear with the appropriate IAC member before making actual contacts in his area of interest. It was generally agreed that the survey would be helpful, and interest was expressed in assisting with its planning and implementation. Probable Soviet Response to the Ratification of the Paris Agreements (NIE 11-55) Approved as amended. 7. Communist Capabilities and Intentions with Respect to the Offshore Islands, the Pescadores, and Taiwan through 1955, and Communist and Non-Communist Reactions with Respect to the Defense of Taiwan (NIE 100-4-55) Postponement of IAC consideration from 8 March to 15 March was approved. Adjournment: 1245 Secretary Secretary's Note 1. No objection having been raised by a member, the Secretary has authorized the release to USIA of SNIE 11-4-55 "Review of Current Communist Attitudes Toward General War" and NIE 31-55 "Probable Developments in Yugoslavia and Its Future Orientation.
