1. There was only one serum station in Latvia in 194+4. It
50X1 was called Serum stacija and was located at Kleista Muiza in northwest Riga.
The station-re-pt a stable of about 30 horses. The equipment was simple but
adequate. About 20 to 25 people were employed. All Latviap-produced
serums and vaccines for both humans and animals came from this station.
2. There was no vitamin manufacture in Latvia although the Soviets announced in
1940 that they were building a large factory in Riga. Actually a small labora-
tory was established and construction was begun on a factory building. However;
the coming of the Germans in 1942 halted this development.
