port sont a remettre a la Deutsche Reiehsbahn, Tarifamt, Berlin
w 8, Vosstrasse 33. 11 fautattirer 1'attention des voyageurs

que les parts appartenant aux administrations des chemin de
icr etrangcres sent mises a to disposition de la Deutsche Reiehs-
bahn.
IV. Conditions pour entrer dans ou traverser la Republique
democratique allemande.
Les visiteurs de la Republique democratique allemande etran-
i:crs ou sans nationaitte peuvent obtenir un visa d'entrce ou
de transit a travers de la Republique democratique allemande
aux bureaux de visa, installes par le Ministere des Affaires
Etrangcres aux points de controle suivants (KPP): Sassnitz,
t': ar nemiinde, Herrnburg. Schwanheide, Oebisfelde, Marienborn,
tVartha, Probstzella, Gutenfurst, Bad Scllandau, Les bureaux
de visa sort ouverts pendant les ]leures d arrivee ou de depart
des trains ou des ferry-boats.
Droits de visa:
visa d'entree et de sollie DM 15.-
visa de transit pour ure foss ...................... DM 5.-
visa de transit pour deux fois .................... DM 10.-
En cas de controle des passeports dans le train en Marche, it
est egalement delivre le visa cans les trains.
a) Entree
A I'cntree en la RDA dolt titre presente un passeport valable
soil avec un visa d'entree soit avec Un preavis de visa (avant-
visa).
Le visa d'entree est delnandee par ecrit aupres des Autorites
diplomatiques ou consulaires des Representations de la RDA
a 1'etranger, au Deutsches Reiseburo, ;Zentrale Leitung, Berlin
N 4, FriedrichstraBe 110-112 ou bien par un membre de familte
en RDA aupres du Volkspelizei-Kreisamt competent.
Les hommes d'affaires adressent lour demande d'entree aux
Services de commerce exterieur a Berlin.
Aux points de controle de la Republique democratique alle-
mande oil le controle se rail dans le train en Marche. le visiteur
pout sur presentation du preavis do visa voyager librement
jusqu'au lieu de destination. Le permis de sejour lui est delivre,
ainsi que le visa tie sortie lore de sa declaration d'arrivse all
Volkspolizei-Kreisamt competent pour le lieu de destination, a
Berlin aux Volkspolizel-lnspektionen qui dolt. avoir lieu dans
lee 24 heures apres l'arri.We.
Dans lee cas oft le controle n'est pas fait dans le train en
marche, par exemple aux points de controle des. autoroutes, ce
sont lee bureaux de visit du Ministere des Affaires Etrangeres
qui delivrent les visa d'entree sur presentation-du preavis de
visa (avant-visa) du Mlnistiire des Affaires etrangcres.
Meme dans ces cas, le voyageur est term de faire une dcla-
ration d'arrivee a la po!ace du lieu de destination,
b) Transit
Les visas de transit sont Mmmediateme'nt ddllvres au bureau
de visa ou a i par
les employs du Ministtree des Af aires l Et angCres si tie visa
d'entree pour un etat voitiln est presente ou s'il,n'existe pas
d'obligation de visa entre l'etat d'origintt du voyageur et 1'etat
voisin.

de passeport,
3. un bulletin du groupe est presente pour l'appositlon du visa
contenant:

d) Voyage de touristes dans la Republique democratique alle-
mande
Des touristes qui ont 1'intention de visiter Is Republique
democratique allemande s'adressent all Deutsches Reisebiiro
(DER),
Zentrale Leitung, Berlin N 4, Postschliessfach 92
Le DER donne tous les rens ignements et se charge Egale-
ment, be cas echeant, des fornialites pour les visa.
V. Introduction des Valeurs
L'introduction des monnaies et des billets de banque stran-
gers et de I'Allemagne occidentale ainsi que des cheques tie
voyage, des lettres de credit et d'autres devises dans la Repu-
blique democratique allemande est permise sans aucune restric-
tion a condition qu'ils fassent l'objet dune declaration au point
de controle a la frontlPre.
Les monnaies etrangcres introduites sur la base d'une decla-
ration de devises peuvent We echangees en DAM de la Deutsche
Notenbank a tous lee bureaux de changes do frontieres de la
Deutsche Notenbank, ainsi qu'aux autres banques aux cours de
change officlels.
Les cours de change pour la monnale de 1'Allemagne oceiden-
'
tale est de 1 : I.
Les sommes non epulsees en DM de la Deutsche Notenbank
doivent avant le depart, soft titre changees dans la monnaie
d'orlgine, soft mice sur un compte tie devises en faveur d'un
stranger a la disposition ulterieure libre aupres de la Deutsche
Notenbank. En quittant be territoire tie la Republique democra-
tique' alleniande l'exportatlon de devises etrangcres et de la
monnaie de 1'Allemagne occidentale est permis jusqu'8 concur-
rence des sommes declarses a l'entrse.
L'lmportation et l'exportation de DM de la Deutsche Noten-
bank est interdite. -
VI. Bagages ct colts express
Des bagages et des colts express' peuvent titre expedies pour
tous lee pays indiques sous I a) et I b). Pour certains pays le
polds d'un colts est cependant limits a 75 kg pour' lee bagagts
et a 165 kg pour lea colts express. -Sur certains chemins de ter
etrangers11 est permis de faire transporter gratuttement pour
1es adultes 30 kg e1 pour 1s enfant ls a dedtt tacit 20 kg de ba-

 Railway booking offices and branches of the DER in the
big cities of the GDR and in Berrlin Issue, on production of
the necessary documents (visas, etc.), railway tickets to the
big towns of the following countries:
a) Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Czechoslovak Socialist
Republic, People's Republic of Poland, People's Republic
of Hungary, People's Republic of Bulgaria, People's Republic
of Rumania, People's Republic of Albania, Democratic
Republic of Vietnam. People's Republic of China, People's
Republic of Mongolia, People's Democratic Republic of
b) Swcdcn, Norway. Denmark. Finland. Austria. Federative
People's Republic of Yugoslavia, France, Netherlands,
Belgium, Luxemburg. Great Britain. Italy, Gre ce, Turkey
The validity of the tickets is as follows:
a) coupon booklet tickets for single journey: GO days, for re-
turn journey 120 days.

On routes of the Deutsche Reidtsbahn the journey may he
interrupted as often as desired, in other countries the regula-

With all liclueis you may travel by any train of he Deutsche

For certain trains you can reserve a seat or a sleeping berth
on payment of an extra charge.
IL Payment of fares and luggage registration charges

III. Refund of fares
Applications for the refund of fares should be made to tile
Deutsche Rcichsbahn, Berlin \V 0, Vosstrasce 33, Tarifamt, We
respectfully point out that the re ftntil cannot be made until the
Deutsche Reichsbahit receives the appropriate refund(s) front
the foreign railway comp;ory or (.-ompanies.
IV. Regulations governing entry into and transit through GDR
Foreign and stateless visitors to the GDR receive visas for
entry into or transit through the GDR at the Visa Offices of
\Vartha. I'robazella. Gvtenftirst, Bad Schandac. The Visa
Offices are opi'n every day at the scheduled times for the
arrival or departure of trains of lorries. The fees for the visas
arc:

b) Transit through the GDR
Permits to travel through the GDR are issued In the visa
offices or on the train by officials of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs without further formalities if you are In. possession
of the necessary visas for entry into a country bordering on
the GDR or if for a person of your nationality no such visas
At the checkpoint Herrnburg transit permits are only Issued
for the routes Herrnburg-Warnem(inde and Ierrnburg-Salinitz
if it is your intention to apply In Berlin for a visa to enter
a countric bordering on the GDR You Will in the first instance
be granted a transit permit valid to \Vest Berlin only. On
receipt of the visa you apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
(Ministerium fiir Auswtirtige Angelegenheiten), IConsularabtei-
lung, Berlin \V 0, Am Zeughaus 1-2 for the transit permit
for the remainder of the transit route.
If you break your journey ill \Vest Berlin for more than
24 hours the farther journey counts as a second transit of
the GDR and requires a second transit permit. If this is
intended it Is advisable to apply for a double transit permit
at the outset.
c) Collective visas
When not less than 10 persons are travelling together a
collective visa call be Issued if:
1. they enter and leave the GDR in a body and all have the
same destination in the GDR, and all use the saute mcaits
of transport;
2. each individual Is in possession of a valid passport or
suhstittttO doctunent;
3. for the purpose of issuing the collective visa a collective
list of the following particulars of all participants and
giving the name of one participant as responsible for the
party is signed and sealed, and clearly indicates the Issuing
body and when and where it was issued.

d) Tourist visits to the GDR
Tourists who wish to visit the GDR should apply to the Dcul-
sches ReisebUro (DER), Zentrale Leftung, Berlin N 4, PO Rox 02,
which will supply all information necessary and under some
circumstances can also settle visa formalities.
V. Currency
On entry into the GDR the import of foreign and West German
banknotes, coins, travellers' cheques, letters of credit, and other

On departure from the GDR unused currency of the Deutsche
Notetlbanii must be re-exchanged for foreign currency or paid
into a foreigner's currency account of the Deutsche Notenbank
for your future disposal. On leaving the CDR the export of
foreign and West German currency is permissible up to the
amounts declared on entry.
Import and export of currency of the Deutsche Notenbank
is not permitted.

Heavy luggage and express goods can also be dispatched to
,any of the countries listed under I. a) and I. b). In some
countries the maximum weight of any one piece of Iuegage is
set at 75 kg and the maximum weight of any one express
goods item is set at FG5 kg. Some foreign railways allow 30 kg
of luggage free for an adult and 20 kg free for a child travelling
at half price.

1. liv Verkehr nvischen den beiden deutschen Staaten werden nur Fahr-

bchnhof ausgegeben. Nach BahnhSfen der Privatkahnen ist die Ausgabo
von Fahrausweisen nicht moglich.
2. Die Fahrausweise gotten nur in Verbindun?3 mit einer Personal-
bescheinigung oder einem P(!rsonolousweis and gegebenenfalls einer
Aufenthaltsgenehmigung.
3. An Reisende, die in Westdeutschlond wohnen, werden von Bahnhafen
in der Deutschen Demokrotischen Republik Fahrausweise nach West-
deutschlond nur ausgegeben, wenn out e'er Aufenthaltsgenehmigung die
polizeiliche Anmeldung am Aufenthaltscrt vermerkt ist; on Ausldnder
oder Stootenlose, wenn der Reise- oder FreindenpaB dos Wieder-
ousreisevisum enthalt.
4. Die zwischen den beiden deutschen Staaten verkehrenden Zuge dOrfon
im Bereich der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik our von Reisenden
mit durchgehenden Fahrausweisen benutzt werden. Reisende, die in
Westdeutschlond wohnen and Reisende out Westberlin durfen our Fohrt
zwischen Berlin and Westdeutschlond and umgekehrt nur die durch-
