Senate select committee on Intelligence staff, to inform him
that Senate Select Committee on Ethics employees Erica Ward,
Judy Schnied.er and Joan Alexy,oth were to receive Si briefings

Committee employees. Epstein said he planned to handle this by
answering the staff members' questions about the material.
2. (Unclassifiied - DFM) LIAISON Talked. with Audrey
Ilatry, Clerk, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff,.
who gave me the schedule for Committee hearings for next week.
Only one hearing, on the charter, is planned.
3. (Unclassified - DFM) LIAISON Hal Ford, Senate Select
Committee on Intelligence staff, was at Headquarters and
reviewed comments of individual agencies on his study of
intelligence on China. After his review, Ford said he needs
to do some more interviewing and then will. want to look at
the comments again.
4. (Unclassified -- DFM) LIAISON Talked with Mike Gelacek
and Tom Crowley, both of the Senate Select Committee on Intelli-
gence staff, and made final arrangements for their orientation
briefings tomorrow.
5. (Unclass.ified MG) LIAISON Received a call from
Dave Lazarus, Helsinki Commission, who wanted to know if we
had any information on drug abuse or illegal transportation of
drugs in the USSR. After checking w:i.tlz' NFAC/CSS, I call Lazarus
back and told him we have no information on this subject.
6. (Unclassified - MG) LIAISON Per his request of today,
sent via courier to Johan Sam lgin, in the office of Representative
Dail. Marriott (R. , Utah) , a wall-size snap of the Middle East.
7. (Unclassified - MG) LIAISON Sent via. courier to Chu(--k
Snodgrass, House Appropriations Committee staff, a 19 July 1.978
letter from the DDCI to the Chairman forwarding the Report on
Budget Execution for the CU Ret:irement and Di.sa.bili.t.y Fund for
30 June 1978. This letter wits delivered. previously and was
i nadvertent:iy sent back to iv;.
