NTH CONGRESS) WASHINGTON. D.C. 20510 April 20, 1978 9w ?LL 78-/705 Admiral Stansfield Turner Director Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D. C. Dear Admiral Turner: The Committee staff has already been in communication with the staff of the Agency on this matter, but I would like to formally request that the Agency make a detailed study of a book by Edward Epstein entitled The Legend. Several members of the Committee have expressed concern about many of the matters raised by the book and we have had considerable public interest about it. It would be helpful to the Committee if the book were analyzed point by point as to its, accuracy, possible sources of information, and implications for present and future intelligence activities of the United States.
