30. LIAISON Received a call from Stan Taylor,
enate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who informed me that
Senator Jake Garn (R., Utah) changed his plans and had flown to Geneva
yesterday and he would, therefore, have to cancel two briefings set
for the Senator for this week. Taylor also informed me he had seen a
19 April James Reston column in the New York Times stating that the
Soviet Union was financing the Red Brigade terrorist group in Italy.
Taylor said contrary information was given to the Committee staff in a
recent briefing on terrorism in Europe and he asked for clarification.
31. LIAISON Met with Mike Epstein, Senate
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who said he as well as others on
the Committee staff had been contacted byl who claimed 25X1
to be a former Agency employee and is now seeking work with the Committee.
Epstein asked me to verify that he had been an employee.
32. I LIAISON Met with Senator James Abourezk
(D., S. Dak.) and delivered to him maps of the Middle East which he had
requested during a previous briefing.
