LIAISON Talked with Hal Ford,
Senate S on intelligence staff, and
the schedule of meetings I had set up for him with
and DDO, for today.

Senate Se~CUL committee on Intelligence staff, Bill Miller,
Committee Staff Director, and Ted Ralston, also of the Committee
staff, regarding the word we had gotten that Chairman Birch
Bayh (D., Ind.) would be visiting contractor facilities on the
West Coast in January. Miller knew nothing about the trip.
Hatry indicated the Senator had speaking engagements in Aspen,
Colorado, on 10 January, Los Angeles on 11 January and Chicago
on 12 January, and would visit contractor facilities on this
trip if arrangements could be made. Ralston indicated he knew
nothing about a trip by Senator Bayh but indicated the staff was
attempting to convince Senator Adlai Stevenson (D., Ill.) to
make the trip the third week of January. Ralston also asked
me to make available a copy of the 19571 eport
regarding overhead reconnaissance.

by the name of Emma Sharon could meet with an analyst on an
unclassified level to discuss the U.S.S.R. Sharon will be
traveling to Russia in two weeks. I reluctantly agreed to see
what could be done.

NIO/East Asia an. acific, ana NIO/Nuclear
Proliferation/NFAC, to a meeting o e 1as Asia Study Group
of the Senate Armed Services Committee regarding Korea. The
meeting was one of a series being held in preparation for the
trip to Asia by a number of Members of the Committee in January.
