(Internal Use Only - ABS) At request of Pat Carpentier, called Ross Douthard, Assistant Country Officer for Rhodesia, at the Department of State, and advised him that in response to his letter to us of 9 :fume 1978 that he should advise Karen Lissakers, of Senate Foreign Relations Committee Staff, that CIA is reviewing il.zc 25X1 I land that after CIA 25X1 has finished this review the CIA will contact her directly. If Ms. Lissakers needed to contact someone on this matter, I provided name 25X1 and extension. 2. (Unclassified -- MG) LIAISON Chuck Snodgrass, House Appropriations Committee staff, visited the Agency to speak to a DDS&T Career Training seminar at' 1:00 p. m. AfterwardE) he briefly met with Les Dirks, DDS &'_C. 3. (Unclassified -- MG) LIAISON Sent via courier to Mr. Telkins, in the office of Senator Bob Packwood (R., Ore.), some general reference maps of South Lebanon. This was in response to a direct request from Mr. Telkins to tho.OQCR/Map Library. 4. (Unclassified - MG) CONSTI'T'UENT Received a call from. Ted Tucci, in the office of Representative Christopher J. Dodd (D. , Conn.. ), who had a constituent inquiry on "who the CIA is responsible to." 1 explained to him about the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Select Committee on intelligence as well as mentioning other committees that the CIA reports to in varying degrees. I also forwarded to him some general information about: the Agency and a copy of Executive Order 12036 for forwarding on to the constituent. He said he thought this would be more than enough information for the constituent. 5. (Unclassified - MG) LIAISON Received a call from Marge Mccaleb, in the office Of Representative Ray Roberts (D., Texas), who requested copies of Agency publications on weather projection. After c"'becking with NFAC/CSS, I called Ms. McCaleb back and told her we have two studies on weatlu ; which I would forward. They are. "Study of Climatological Research as it Pertains to Intelligence Problems" and "USSR: Impact of Recent Cli.znate Changes on Grain Production.
