(Internal Use Only - GAM) LIAISON Called Tom Smeeton, Minority Staff Consultant, House International Relations Committee, to discuss several matters related to the briefing on the North Korean subversive activities scheduled to be given to the Subcommittec on International Organizations on 3 August. Smecton suggested that it would be appropriate for Chairman Donald M. Fraser (D., Minn.) to make some remarks regarding the proper treatment of classified information. 16. (Internal Use Only - GAVIC) LIAISON Called Alike Hershman, Deputy Staff DiKector, House International Relations Subcommittee an InternationaJ,' Organizations, to ask whether he could arrange for Subcommittee Chairman Donald M. Fraser (D., Minn.) to read a brief statement that we would prepare on the handling of classified information and the need to treat the identity of the Agency's briefer with the utmost discretion when we brief the Subcommittee on North Korean subversive activities on 3 August. Hershman said this would be no problem, and I said I would get the statement to him early next week. 17. (Internal Use Only - GMC) LIAISON Called Paul O'Connell, on the staff of the Morgan-Schmitt Senate Select Committee on Ethics Subcommittee, to pass on two additional pieces of information which he had asked for during his visit earlier in the day on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence oil study leak. t, ' GMC) THIRD AGENCY Took a call from Office of Legislative Affairs, NSA, who said that NSA had informed Mike Epstein, on the staff of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, that he was not authorized to show NSA documents in his possession to staff members of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics.
