SUBJECT: 21 January Tasking re Current Crises
1. During the 21 January debrief the Director asked the
following be undertaken:

b. The Director indicated his interest in a summary
perspective of the overall problems and successes
encountered lay the Soviets in their invasion of
Afghanistan. DD/NFA noted that this was something
he had asked for last week. It was noted that this
was being prepared for a PDB on 23 January. In view
of the DDCI's 22 January testimony before the HFAC,
it was requested that a draft of this PDB article
be provided him by 1200, 22 January. (Action:
Afghanistan Task Force, due to DCI in draft by 1200,
