As a e aware, the DCI issued an Alert Memorandum 25X1
I arned that the Soviets appeared to be building
up tor a major move into Afghanistan.
2. Fast moving developments lied us to 25X1
believe that 25X1
it had begun. As a result, the DCI, in the
interest of timeliness, issued an uncoordinated Alert Memorandum
as provided for in the references. A copy is attached for your
information.
