hand half of the tube is closed and on its m anode there is a high voltage level;
the right hand half of the tube is open through the divider Ri, R3. At this A

When a pulse emerges slowly rising to a high level appears at terminal 2,
the voltage at output of the divider R.7, R2 rises also and when it reaches the
voltage level between, the grid* and the cathode of bhe left hand half of the tube, it
will be equal to the cut off voltage of the tube, the left hand half will begin to
open. As a result 00' the voltage,Witat the anode of the left hand half begins
to fall, the right hand half closes through the divider R1, and R3 thereby the
voltage on the cathode resistance begins to fall (when the right hand half is
closed voltage U2 is setup on the resistance R4 ; since Rs is greater than R6
this voltage will be less than U1). The voltage drop on 114 will 40 open the left
hand half which closes the right hand half lowers voltage still more on 114 and so
on. Then regenerative process takes place resulting in the change over of the
circuit into the states at which the left hand half of the tube is open and the
right handildithalf is mit closed. The circuit will remain in this state as
long as high voltage is maintained on terminal 2. When the input voltage falls
(the trailing edge of the input pulse) to a level at which the voltage Uck
(voltage between the grid and the cathode) of the left hand half begins to become

square pulses of adjustable duration when negative voltage drops are applied at its
input.
In the computers this package is used in the control /is devices generation
of control pulses both in punched tape and eagnetic tape storages and for
generation of synchronizing pulses.
The cathodes of the two halves of the tube are connected to terminal 11
(earth). The equal anode resistances R8 and R9 .with the compensating
inductances Li and L2.are connected to terminal 1 (anode voltage). The

a number (code) for the operation and detention the operation to to

Each location on the magnetic dram storage can be a complete
1k:cation which consists of 36 digits ar can be an incomplete location
which consists of 18 digits. The complete losatione have anly even
addresses and the incomplete locations have both even and odd addresses.
A complete location is distinguished free an imooroplete ane by having one
(1) before the most significant digit of its binary address. When
recorded in the octal system this one (1) enters the address together
with the other binary digits of the address.
Digit register of the computer is raProlantad in rig. 1.
The symbolic representation of the instruction includes a short
name of the operation and the letter rwreeentstlon of ths address.
