1945 - study.
A historical study in three volumes on the economic and social
conditions of the individual Czech social classes under the Nazi
occupation. Part 1 (2 volumes) contains a general survey of the
economic conditions during the occupation and the main problems of
the Czech bourgeoisie. The second part deals with the working
class, and the third with farmers. -The first volume offers an
analysis of the occupation regime, Germanization and Aryanization
in the economic field, militarism and a split in the Czech bour-
geoisie. The author argues that the big Czech bourgeoisie pro-
fited from the war prosperity while the middle and small bour-
geoisie was the looser; this fact influenced the composition of
the national front of resistance against the occupation forces.

special characteristics of the development of the people's demo-
cracy in individual countries of central and southeastern Europe,
and describes in (Wail the nature of the revolution and government
in Czechoslovakia and the problem of a special Czechoslovak road
to socialism. It analyzes the changes in the social structure of
Czechoslovakia before Munich and during the occupation, explains
the national and democratic revolution as a special form in the
transitional stage on the way to the socialist revolution in
Czechoslovakia; finally, it analyzes the gradual creation of
individual functions of the dictatorship of the proletariat until
February 1948 when the full dictatorship was established.

of theoreticians and practical lawyers which lasted several years.
The introduction deals with the concept and science of criminal law
and it presents a historical survey of criminal law including a
chapter on the Soviet criminal law. The rest of the first volume
is devoted to the principles of criminel responsibility, forms of
crimes, penalties, and protective measures of the Ce. criminal law.
There is a comparison with the Soviet criminal Is/ and a critique
of the bourgeois law. The second volume deals with individual
parts of the Cz. criminal law, i.e., crimes against the Republic,
economic crimes, crimes against persons, etc. Some changes were
made with regard to the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of
the Soviet Union at the time of printing.

of the foundation of the Prague Engineering School. It contains
six studies on the beginning of the technical education and tech-
nical museums in Bohemia. Essays by F. Jilek: Czech economy at
the end of the 18th century; Beginning of the technical education;
Struggle for the Prague Polytechnical School. They show that the
efforts to compete with the western states in the textile and glass
production were the basis leading to the foundation of the technical
education, and that Prague became the center when the Polytechnical
School was founded there in 1806, the first institution of that kind
in central Europe. J. Nhjer's study deals with the history of the
technical museum. The essay by E. Cakrtova contains sources on the
history of the technical education lited in the collections of the
National Technical Pkiseum.
