As of Sep 57, this depot was still under constructan. Nhen completed it win.
consist of four 8 x 20m concrete above-ground storage buildings0 The road connect-
ions between the individual bunkers and the entrance to the area were also under
construction 0 Because of the hilly terrain of the area, these roads are necessary
before the buildings can be used for storage* Construction was expeoted to be
completed about Nov_57 One of the bunkers, which required no access -ecaA7was
already in use by the 2nd Mtz Rifle Regt which maintains a detachment of one NCO
and six EM in the guard building. There are field telephone connections from the
guard building to the 2nd Mtz Rif Div* The area is surrounded by an outer and
an inner fence and these fences are separated by a open space of about 5 mu
The outer fence is about 2-m high and the inner fence 205-m high0 The perimeter
lighting had been installed about Sep 57 but at that time was not as yet in
operation. When completed, this depot is intended as a central ammo depot for
the 1st Mtz Rif Div0

In this temporary depot the ammo is stored under canvas? This depot is
intended for use only until the new Division depot at POTSDAM-Lernim is completed
Guard duties for this depot are performed by the guard detachment for the
installation of which the depot is a part. During the night two sentries are
posted in the storage area while only one guard is on during the daye

The depot consists of three cigar-shaped bunkers which were formerly air
raid shelters for the Hq Staff of the Weil German airforce. There is no
special fencind which separates the bunkers from the rest of the insta11ation0
The guards, one man to each bunker, are provided by the guard detachment of the
central installation. The alarm signal by the guard is a gun shot. The follow-
ing munitions are stored here:

former concentration camp at OReNIERBURG. The area is enclosed by a well about
3-m-high. An 2-m-high inner fence of barbed-wire is about 5-m from the walle

detachment consists of one officers one NCO And six EM who are provided alternate-

The depot consists of four above-ground l'uildinge. As of Sep 57, the
streets within the depot were almost finished but construction on the entpance '
road into the area from the BrandenburAohenstuecken -Rathenow road and
the exit to the same road had not yet started. The lighting and a double fence
had been completed. On each corner ct the depot was emplaced a sentry box in a

Up until the end of 1956, the normal type of construction for the munitions
depots was a 8 20 in concrete above-ground building. However, since May 57,
this type of construction has been forbidden. In the future, all ammo storage
facilities will be placed underground.
9. iuncunt of AmmostorL4zL:
AS of Sep 57 the training doctrine in the 1st Mtz AV Div specified that
25A of a Basle Load of all types of munitions would be h'eld in the Div depot,
25;4 held at Regiment and 50A kept with the individual guns. In the case of
small arms ammo, 50A'of a Basic Load would be in the co4Lnies with 25% at
Regiment and 25A at Division.
By the end of 1957, these amounts are scheduled to be increased to 50g, in
Division storage, 25% at Regiment, and 510 at the guns with the exception of
AT and tank ammo'which will increase to 75% of a Basic Load, at the gun=
The figures' for individual depots as given in this reports seem to reflect
a transition from the old storage figures to the new. When depot construction
for all- Regiment.s"and the.Division is completed, it can be expected that the50X1-HUM
new storage levels will be in effect a further increase in
ammo Supply in '458 would probably result in one complete basic loJd at the gun,
with 25% at Regiment and 540% at Division.
