INSTRUCTIONS FOR FURNACE INSTALLATION
The F-30 and f-50 (OKB-210A) Electric Fur-
naces may be installed on the shop floor, without
any special foundations. The condition of the
Electric Furnaces should be verified after their
installation in place. The F-30 and F-50 (0KB-
210A) Electric Furnaces are furnished fully assem-
bled and lined. The heating elements, to avoid
breakage, are not mounted in the Furnace, but are
packed separately and shipped together with the
Furnace.
The heaters should be placed into the Furnace
chamber only after completion of all erection work
on the Furnace itself and on the electrical equip-
ment.
Erection of the Furnace and of the respective
electrical equipment, as well as drying of the re-
fractory brick lining and operation of the Furnace,
_
should be carried out fully in accordance with the
instructions of Makers' Works.
The heating elements, if correctly operated and
protected against overheating above 1300? C should
give minimum 500 hours of service without any
appreciable ohmic resistance variation. Further
service at reduced power is still possible by increa-
sing the transformer terminal voltage.
When replacing some of the heating rods, see
that their unit resistances at the working tempera-
ture are approximately the same.
In order to avoid cracks in the products to be
heated when charged into the Furnace at 1300? C,
they should be preheated to 850? C. For this pur-
pose, type H electric chamber Furnaces are usually
installed at the side of type F Furnaces.

AUXILIARY SWITCHES FOR INTERLOCKING
SIGNALLING AND CONTROL CIRCUITS
TYPE KCA
APPLICATION AND DESIGNS
Type KCA auxiliary switches are designeck for
installation with circuit-breakers, single-pole and
three-pole disconnecting switches. They are used
for opening and closing indicating lamp circuits,
interlocking and other control circuits with volta-
ges up to and including 220 V.
Auxiliary switches are available in the follo-
wing arrangements in accordance with their appli-
cation:
1. With long or short crank arms.
2. With a 90 or 120 degree angle of shaft
displacement.
3. With from two to twelve circuits.
Auxiliary switches, for use with manual auto-
matic circuit-breaker operating mechanisms with
a type HO solenoid circuit-breaker operating
mechanisms or for use with manual lever-type
mechanisms or motor driven operating mechanisms
RATINGS OF TYPE KCA
for outdoor disconnecting switches, are mounted
either as an integral part of the mechanisms or
separately.
When used with indoor single-pole disconnec-
ting switches rated up to 2,000 A, the auxiliary
switch is connected to the knife of the disconnec-
ting switch by means of a connecting link of in-
sulating material. When used with indoor single-
pole disconnecting switches for currents higher than
2,000 A, three-pole disconnecting switches, and
load-switching type of disconnecting switches,
the auxiliary switches are connected to the lever
arm of the operating mechanism by means of
a steel connecting rod. The connecting rod is atta-
ched to a special crank arm of the circuit-breaker
operating mechanism when the switch is used with
a circuit-breaker.

MOUNTING OF AUXILIARY SWITCHES-FOR USE WITH DISCONNECTING
SWITCHES, LOAD-SWITCHING TYPE DISCONNECTING SWTCHES AND
CIRCUIT-BREAKERS
Auxiliary switches, when used with single-pole
disconnecting switches, are controlled by means
of an insulating link connected to the knife blade
of the disconnecting switch. The auxiliary switch
is mounted to one side of the line formed by the
knife blade. The insulating links are fastened to the
knife blades of the disconnecting switch with thread-
ed pins and the necessary nuts.
In view of the variety of arrangements encoun-
tered during installation, insulating connecting
links of a necessary length for auxiliary switches
are installed in the field.
Application and controls of auxiliary switches
for use with single-pole and three-pole disconnec-
ting switches, circuit-breakers, and load-switching
type of disconnecting switches are varied in accor-
dance with the conditions of installation.

APPLICATION
This electric drive,is used for rolled motors of
non-reversing multistand hot mills: billet mill
700/500 and merchant mill 350. The control sys-
tem controls rolling speed and correspondence
of speeds of separate stands.
SPECIFIC FEATURES
Separate stands of multistand mills have a
separate electric drive from regulated d.c. shunt
motors. Each motor is supplied from a separate
-aggregate consisting of single-anode sealed mer-
cury arc valves with water cooling.
The mercury arc rectifiers have a number of
-advantages in comparison with rotary converters,
namely: reduction of the price of equipment and
energy losses, silence in operation, low mainten-
ance, quickness of control.
The sealed mercury arc rectifiers have a high
reliability and do not demand auxiliary devices
for maintaining vacuum.
The separate system of the motor supply per-
mits to accomplish automatic speed regulation
by means of affecting the armature voltage. This is
a great advantage of the system inasmuch as due
to inertialess of the mercury arc rectifier quick-
ness and exactness of automatic regulation are-
performed what is of great importance for the

compensation of percussive drop of the motor
speed appearing during the travel of a bar into
the stand.
Provision is made for reserve of one mercury
arc rectifier which can supply the motor of any
stand.
In dependence of the motor power the recti-
fiers for a rectified current up to 1500A (6 valves)
or up to 3000 A (12 valves) are used. The recti-
fied voltage?up to 825 V. The rectifiers for a
rectified current up to 200 A supplying from a. c.
mains are used for exciting rolled motors.
The motor speed regulation is performed by a
change of voltage as well as by a change of ex-
citing current. ?
In the latter case the motor operating moment
is decreased inversely proportional to the rota-
tion speed. Such a method of regulation permits
to accomplish the rolling of heavy and light
assortment at the most commercial speeds thereby
it permits rational using of the electric drive
power.
The grid control of mercury arc rectifiers is ac-
complished by means of static phase shifter made
in the form of- an inductive bridge with a con-
trolling organ in the form of a choke with mag-
netization. The phase shifter is controlled from a
magnetic amplifier having several control wind-
ings each of which performs definite functions.
The system reliability, quick action and exact-
ness are accomplished by means of using for
control and regulation of static apparatus.
The magnetic amplifier controlling the recti-
fier in the armature circuit predetermines the
motor rotation speed in the ranges up to the base
speed.
The rotation speed upper than base is pre-
determined by the magnetic amplifier of the ex-
citing circuit rectifier at a permanent voltage of
the motor armature. Automatic speed regulation
on the whole range of speeds is accomplished by
a tachogenerator connected with the motor shaft.
The tachogenerator voltage affects the magnetic
amplifier of an armature mercury arc rectifier.
The adjustment of the motor predetermined speed
can be performed as separately for each stand
as well as for all stands simultaneously?by
means of a common master apparatus.
The motor speed deceleration can be accom-
plished by theitduction of the armature voltage
or by the increase of exciting flow. The motors
are translated into the regime of dynamic brak-
ing to perform the rapid motor deceleration at
decreasing the speed. If necessary the motor re-
verse is accomplished by switching the exciting
winding.

The mercury arc rectifiers with supplying
transformers and accessories are located in a
special complete converting center.
The control commutation apparatus, protec-
tion and signalization apparatus are all mounted
on panels of 2300 mm height. The rolled motor
control (starting, stopping, speed regulation) is
accomplished by means of master apparatus lo-
cated on the control desk.

VOLTAGE STABILIZERS
Types CH9-120-0.1 and CH3-220-0.5
APPLICATION AND USE
The Types CI-19 electromagnetic Voltage Sta-
bilizers are designed to maintain a constant vol-
tage across the outlet terminals when the line
voltage fluctuates.
The electromagnetic Voltage Stabilizers can
be used in all installations where a constant
RMS or mean voltage value is required, e. g.,
supply to radio installations, measuring circuits,
automatic control circuits, remote control, etc.
CONSTRUCTION
The Stabilizer is a high leakage inductance
transformer. The transformer Stabilizer consists
of a shell type magnetic system with a magnetic
shunt. The following windings (coils) are ar-
ranged on the core: the primary, compensating
and secondary.
Owing to the hig,h leakage, the transformer is
mounted on a base of non-magnetic material. A
terminal board, to change over for ,a 120 or 220 V
line supply to the Stabilizer, is attached to the
transformer.
The Stabilizer is enclosed in a case. Air open-
ings are provided in the case to improve the cool-
ing of the Stabilizer.
The Stabilizers .are designed for normal opera-
tion in a horizontal position with the case up.

BESTIMMUNG UND VERWENDUNG
Die olektromagnetischen Spannungsregler
Type C1-19 sind zor Konstanthaltung der Span-
nung an den Klemmen der Stromverbraticher bei
schwa nken cler Netzspannung bestimmt.
Die elektromagnetischen Spannungsregler
kiinnen in ,siirritlichen Einrichtungen verwendet
werden, wo ein gleichbleibender Effektiv- ocleor
Mittelwert ,der Spannung erforderlich ist (Spei-
sung von Funkeneinrichtungen, MeBschaltungen,
Automatik, Fernsteuerung usw.).
BAUART
Der Spannungsregler stellt ,einen Transforma-
tor mit groBer Streuinduktivitat dar. Er besteht
aus einem Magnetgehiiuse (Manteltype) mit
Magnet nebenschluf3. Auf seinem Kernschenkel
sind die Primar-, Kompensations- und Sekundiir-
wicklung ,angeordnet.
Wegen der hohen Stoeuung ist der Transfor-
ma tor auf ,einem Unterbau aus nichimagneti-
sche.m Werkstoff a ufgeba ut. Am Transformator ist
ein Klemmenbrett befestigt, das zum Umschalten
von 120-V- auf 220-V-Netzspeisung und urn-
gekehrt client.
Der Regler ist mit einer Schutzhaube ver-
sehen, in der Liiftungsoffnungen zur Verbes-
serung ,der Reglerkilhlung vorgesehen sind.
Die Regier sind ftir den normalen Betrieb in
Horizontallege mit GehAuse I-Lath oben ausgelegt.

DESTINATION ET UTILISATION
Les stabilisateurs de tension electromagneti-
ques de types C1-19 sont destines a maintenir cons-
tante la tension aux homes cl'alimentation d'un
circuit d'utilisation en cas de variations de la ten-
sion ,clu reseau.
Les stabilisateurs electromagnetiques peuvent
'etre utilises dens tous les ?as ot la ,constance de
la tension efficace ou tnoyenne est necessaire, p. e.
alimentation des appareils de radio, des disposi-
tifs de mesure, des appareils automatiques, des
appareils de commande A distance, etc.
DESCRIPTION DE LA CONSTRUCTION
Le stabilisateur est un transformateur A dis-
persion magnetique elevee. Le transformateur-
stabilisateur est constitue par un circuit magne-
tique du type cuirasse A shunt magnetique. Le
noyau porte l'enroulement prim aire, l'enroule-
ment de compensation et l'enroulement secon-
daire.
Par suite de sa dispersion consid6rable, le
transformateur est monte sur ,une embese en
matiere non magnetique. Une plaque ? homes,
permettant l'alimentation du stabilisateur par un
reseau de 120 ou 220 V, est fixee sur le transfor-
mateur.
Le stabilisateur est enferme dans un capot.
Des ouvertures sont menagees dans cc dernier
efin d'ameliorer le refroidissement de l'appareil.
Les stabilisateurs ,sont ,prevus pour fonction-
ner normalement en position horizontale leur ca-
pot etant dirige vers le haut.

500 V at a frequency of 50 c. p. s. and can be
used in damp premises saturated with chemical
fumes or gases including 1, 2, 3, 4 explosive cate-
gories A, B, F, Lk groups of inflammation (according
to the safety code for explosionproof elect-
rical equipment existing in the U.S.S.R.). The
push button stations are manufactured for opera-
tion in tropic conditions.
SPECIFIC FEATURES
Type KY700/1T push button stations are faste-
ned to vertical surfaces and have oil immersed con-
tacts. Terminals are connected directly to con-
tact elements. The change of switching posi-
tions is accomplished at turning the handle which
after removing the hand returns into its primary
position by a special spring.

DESCRIPTION
The single push button station consists of a
cast body and cover. The contact element is lo-
cated at an internal cover side. The lever con-
nected with the shaft presses the contact ele-
ment. The contacts are immersed in oil poured
in the station body. There is an inspection win-
dow in the body wall for the observation of the
oil level.
There is a special hollow in the station cover
for the connection and dressing the cable. The
cable is brought in at the bottom and packed by
means of a rubber ring and nut. If necessary the
cable can be brought in at the top through the
upper hollow covered with a screwed plug. The
upper hollow permits to bring in the cable in a
gas pipe 3/4".

THREE-PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR
Type AM-6 127-4
The Type AM-6 127-4 Three-Phase Slip-Ring
Induction Motor is part of the AM-6 Series of
three-phase slip-ring induction motors having an
output of 45 to 410 kW at a synchronous speed
of 600, 750, 1000, and 1500 r.p.m. and at 220,
380, 500, 3000, and 6000 V, 50 c.p.s.
The Type AM-6 127-4 Motor is available with
two endshield bearings and shaft extension to
take a pulley or coupling (Style 1112).
The shaft extension has a light keying fine fit
(2nd Class in the bore system).
The Type AM-6 127-4 Motor is available drip-
proof with double-sided symmetrical radial ven-
tilation by vanes mounted or the rotor. The air is
admitted through openings at the lower part of
both encIshields and escapes through ports at
each side of the frame.

The Motor is to operate in rooms with an
ambient temperature not below +5?C and not
above +35?C.
The slip rings are fitted with a brush-lifting
and short-circuiting gear. The brushes are copper-
graphite, 6 per slip ring; the total number of
brushes is 18.
The stator and rotor winding ends are
brought out to separate cast-iron boxes arranged
on the frame right-hand side looking from the
driving shaft extension; the terminals are fixed
on a laminated insulation board located inside
the box.
The AM-6 127-4 Motor is fitted with antifric-
tion bearings in closed cast-iron retainer hous-
ings mounted in the endshields.
When the ambient temperature exceeds 35?C,
the output of the Motor is reduced as follows:

Phasenlaufer-Drehstrommotoren f?r Leistungen

750, 1000 und 1500 U/min., f?r Spannungen von
220, 380, 500, 3000 und 6000 V und eine
Frequenz von 50 Hz.
Der Drehstrommotor Type AM-6 127-4 wird
mit zwei Schildlagern und freiem Wellenende
zum Aufsetzen einer Riemenscheibe oder einer
kupplung hergestellt (Ausfahrung 111,2).
Das freie Wellenende wird mit einer Haft-
sitztoleranz hergestellt, nach clem Einheits-
bohrungssystem.
Der Drehstrommotor Type AM-6 127-4 hat
einen Spritzwasserschutz; die cloppelseitige
symmetrische radiate Li.iftung erfolgt mit Hilfe
von Flageln, die am Laufer angebracht sind. Der
Lufteintritt erfolgt durch Offnungen, die im
unteren Teile beider Schilde angeordnet sincl,
wahrend der Luftaustritt durch die Seitenfenster
im Motorgestell erfolgt.
Der Drehstrommotor Type AM-6 127-4 ist zur
Verwendung in einem Raum mit einer Umge-
bungstemperatur von nicht Linter +5?C und
nicht fiber +35?C bestimmt.
Die Schleifringe sind mit einer Barstenab-
hebevorrichtung Lind einem kurzschlieBer ver-

also 18 Bursten vorhanden.
Die Leitungsenclen der StAnder- und Laufer-
wiciclungen sind in getrennten guBeisernen
Kasten untergebracht, die, von der Antriebsseite
aus gesehen, auf der rechten Gehauseseite an-
geordnet sind. Die Klemmen der Leitungsenden
sind an einer Getinaxtafel, die innerhalb des
Kastens untergebracht ist, befestigt.
Der Drehstommotor AM-6 127-4 ist mit
Wiilzlagern versehen; letztere sind in guBeiserne
Kapseln eingeschlossen, die in die Lagerschilde
cingebaut werden.
Falls die Umgebungstemperatur holier als
35?C ist, verringert sich die Motorleistung wie
folgt:

Les moteurs asynchrones triphases a rotor
bobine du type AM-6 127-4 font partie de la serie
AM-6 des moteurs h courant triphase i rotor
bobine d'une puissance de 45 a 410 kW A 600,
750, 1000 et 1500 tr/min synchrones pour des
tensions de 220, 380, 500, 3000 et 6000 V et une
frequence de 50 Hz.
Les moteurs AM-6 127-4 sont executes avec
deux paliers flasques et un bout libre de l'arbre
pour le montage d'une poulie ou cl'un manchon
(execution 11.1,2).
Le bout libre de Parbre est execute a ajustage
chasse de cleuxieme classe de precision de
systeme de tolerances sovietique.
Les moteurs du type AM-6 127-4 sont
proteges contre les gouttes et sont executes avec
tine ventilation symetrique radiate des deux
cotes, assuree par les ailettes du rotor. L'ait
entre par les ouvertures clisposees dans la partie
inferieure des deux flasques et sort par les ori-
fices lateraux du bail.

Ces moteurs sont destines a etre employes
clans des beaux dont la temperature n'est pas
inferieure h +5?C et ne depasse pas +35?C.
Le moteur est pourvu d'un dispositif special
de relevage des balais et de court-circuitage des
bagues. Les balais sont metallographitiques; le
nombre total de balais est egal a 18, six par
bagues.
Les bornes de raccordement des enroulements
du stator et du rotor sont disposees clans des
boites en fonte separees, disposees sur le cote
droit clu HU pour in observateur place face au
bout libre de Parbre; les homes de raccordement
sont fixees sum une plaque en carton bakelise,
placee a Pinterieur de la boite.
Les moteurs electriques AM-6 127-4 sont
executes avec des paliers a roulement disposes
dans les enveloppes en fonte montees dans les
flasques.
Lorsque la temperature ambiante depasse
+35?C, la puissance du moteur diminue clans
les proportions suivantes:
