1. The Standard ,Company which produces military equipment such as
radios, telephones, telegraphic equipment, teletypes, etc. The
company was formerly associated vtth the Siemens Company of
Germany and with a UK company It employe three or four thousand
people.
2, Gamma Factory, one of the largest producers of optical equipment
for military purposes in Hungary. Produces field glasses, gun
sights for various types of weapons, etc. Employe four or five
thousand people?
3. Fogesker4kgyir - a cogawheel factory which produces railroad
wheels, axles for railroad cars, etc. Employs about 600 people.
Existed before World War II, but in the postwar period it has
expanded to about four times its original size.
4. Cable factory which makes cables for underground telephone lines,
cable cars, etc. Existed before World War II, but was less than
one-fourth its present size at that time.
5. Magyar Allami Femkutato Intezet (State Metal and Iron Research
Institute). This large T-shaped building which was constructed
in about l949, consists of about three stories above ground and
an underground section as well. It is a scientific institute,
and what actually goes on there is a closely guarded secret.

used until about 1952. The buildings, watch towers, etc, of the
prison are still there, but they are no longer in use.
6. Prefabricating factory which faces Andor Ms This largo company,
which makes concrete blocks, prefabricated walls, etc (not of
wood, but of concrete or cement), was started in 1948 and finished
in 1951 or 1952. they are actually making more
at this factory than the general public is aware of. 50X1-HUM
7. The Loden Felt and Wool Mills This company burned down in about
1947 but was rebuilt.
8. Linen Textile Factory. The director of this company is a graduate
of the "Red Academy" a political academy In northwest Budspest
(third district). the craduatem of vhieh are nlaead in keyytemaltienr

The factory which employs about 1500 people, is at
least 50% larger than it was before World War II.
9. Former machine fectoTy, 1rigina4y called Csonka *air, and now
called Kismotor es Gogyar, which produces outboard motors for
small landing craft, It also makes agricultural equipment and
aircraft engines (not jets). The plant is very large. It has about
tripled in size since World War II, and now covers a full block
(which is larger than an average city block). It employs at
least 1500 people. The factory has two stories above ground, and
an underground section.
10. Szell8z8 Mlivek - a factory which makes air-conditioning and
ventilating equipment. It also produces threshing machines. This
company was built in 1948 or 1949.
11. Tobacco (cigarette) factory.
12. Honvidsegi RaktIr - Military Depot Hospital and Blood Donor Station.
The building is at least 150 meters long and 50 or 60 meters vide,
and has two stories. It extends from the street to the railroad
tracks. The building itself is right on the street, so there is
no fence in front, but there is a fence between the building and
the railroad tracks. It is a prewar installation.
13. In one corner of the triangular property on which the hospital is
located is the Hungarian-French cotton factory.
14. Military installation on Gellert &gyp part of which is built into
the rocky hill. The front of tile installation is a three-story
building, It was started in 1947 and finished in 1952 or 1953.
Inside there is a military communications center and jamming
installation. Some of the radio transmitting directed against the
freedom fighters in the rebellion of October 1956 originated here.
