This field 3,000 by 1,800 a he. been rebuilt by. the nangarians since world II. 1, %r 2. At the northern edge of the field is Hill 1501 Ind Hill t7shalom 149. South of the field is the CsirLky wood and the crossing of a road and railroad. West of the field is the Celldcsolk-R6pOelak railroad. Between the railroad and the Pap6cs-Kirdlykdt road are peasantst houses. East of the field is the Bagdvdr wood and the dirt road that connects 0shaloa and Papdoz; also the village of Kemenesmagasi. 3. The ground is loam mixed with gravel and grown over with grass. Drainage canals are unnecessary. Even after heavy rainfalls the runways can be used. There are no obstacles. 4. The buildings at the field are all of wood. They consist of: two small wooden barracks, used as guardhouses; 2 one-story barracks, each 10 by 22 m, quarters for enlisted; three one-story barracks, each 12 by 35 as staff buildings and offi%es; a gasoline depot. 5. The gasoline depot is at the southwest corner of the airfield, and consists of two underground tanks each of 20,000 liters capacity, and an area surrounded by an earth wall, 2 by 20 by 50 a, where gasoline in drums is stored. 6. The radio station is at the north and of the field. The middle one is concreted and is 2,500 a long, 60 a broad. The two outer runways are of rolled gravel, each 2,000 by.60 a. There,is.no apron. 8. There are no arrangements for night flying. 9. In the late summer large quantities of concrete and other building material were delivered to the field, and there is talk of new concrete hangars. Work is progressing on the lengthening of the field, including the removal of the sand hill near .ne Bagdvdr wood; 320 workers are at work on this. 10. At the fiel4 are_ two -Soviet fighter companies, with 155--to 170 men. These units arrived in May 1953 and re under th%, Soviet command in Pdpa.
