A Hungarian ground support ssotioa with 19 to 21 PJ5-2 machines is now ~95~ stationed at-3sirma Airfield. 2. `1'he men of this unit number 520 to .530. They are all quite young acrd wear light blue insignia. The unit reached the field in spring of 1953? The auto park oonsistis of six passenger cars, six deeps, two Ikarus buses, five tank trucks, 12 or 13 trucks. During the whole of the summ~:r the flying personnel was away from the field, but ground units remained. 3. There is also a training unit at the field, devoted to theoretical instruction, The young men taking the coursaes are in their classrooms almost all day. 4. oaring the fall of 153 there was attack instruction, carried through very oarefully and thoroughly. Exercises were held mainly in the early morning hours, with planes working singly and in threes. There were no bombing exercises. The fliers being trained were all young men from bI:iskolc and the neighborhood, who received their preliminary training in 1952 at Szirmabessenyo Field. 5. azirmabessen`y0 Field is usually called "Miskolc-Ncrth". T1: is reserved for civilian air traffic of the Massovlet. Down to Sep 1953 there was a training unit of the civilian MRSZ (Hungarian Air Oroup) at the field, but it was dissolved for the winter 1953 and 1954.
