SUBJECT: Request for Authorization of Fqs for Non-CIA

1, It is requested that $198.61 be authorized to enroll = -Itil
=for 40 additional hours of private instruction in conversational '
German through the facilities cf the Berlitz System.
2. The candidate is at present residing in Washington,, D* C*
with instructions to pursue certain courses of study and particular
lines of activity to prepare himself for his future assignment. He
is under strict orders to avoid any and all overt connections with
this agency.
3. Mr. ,.who has a background of four years of college
German, has us finished a I.0 hour course of Berlitz instruction.
It is felt that his continuous enrollment in the conversational
German course is essential for the linguistic proficiency necessary
for the completion of his mission.
4. Mr._ has attended the Berlitz classes from his place
of residence, and it is recommended that this practice be continued
in the interest of preserving security.
