C. 2 May 1944 SUBJECT: Transmission of Captured Japanese Documents to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, Aar Department General Staff. MEMORANDUM BY THE UNITED STATES CHIEFS OF STAFF: 1. The United States Chiefs of Staff have directed the Commander- in-Chief, South lest Pacific Area, the Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Ocean Area, the Commanding General United States Armed Forces in China, Burma, and India and the Commanding General, Alaskan Department to send all captured Japanese documents to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, War Department General Staff, Washington, D. C., so they may be systematically exploited by a combined staff of research specialists as is now being done in London for captured European documents. It is requested that the British Chiefs of Staff send the attached message to the Supreme Allied Commander Southeast Asia Command in order to obtain similar action from that headquarters.
