SUBJECT: Travel and Transportation Expenses - Retirement and Death Cases
1. On 6 August the proposed extension of payment for travel and
transportation expenses in retirement and death cases involving Agency
employees in the CSC system was discussed with Messrs. Bush, - 25X1 A
. This discussion was initiated by dais Chairman 25X1 A
of the Agency's Travel Policy Committee to which we had referred the paper
prepared by SSA-DD/S.
2. -stated that the Committee had discussed the subject in
two respects: whether appropriate for handling by this Committee; and, in
substantive terms. The Committee is to meet again on 15 August to arrive
at a recommendation to the DD/S. Committee members in their earlier
meeting definitely concluded that the problem is not properly within Com -
mittee cognizance. They agreed nonetheless to consider the substance
and had had participate to provide background.
