NAMESE TO NEGATE THE EFFECTS OF AIR STRIKES AGAINST DRV TRANSPORTATION
NETS. OF NOTE IS THE UTILIZATION OF THREE RIVER CROSSING METHODS TO BY-
PASS ONE DESTROYED BRIDGE.

THE DESTROYED BRIDGE TO BE UTILIZED IN ADDITION TO THE FERRY.
3. MISSION READOUT:
UE 644A, 16 JANUARY 1966, REVEALS A PONTOON BRIDGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
JUST. NORTH OF THE DESTROYED HIGHWAY BRIDGE ON ROUTE 1A IN THE VICINITY OF
TU DUNG. TWO PONTOON BRIDGE SECTIONS ARE BEING CONSTRUCTED TWO HUNDRED
YARDS NORTH OF THE DESTROYED BRIDGE, AND CONSTRUCTION PERSONNEL ARE OBSER-
VED ATTACHING FLOORING TO ONE OF THESE SECTIONS. EIGHT POSSIBLE PONTOON
FLOAT SECTIONS ARE LOCATED NEAR THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.

XAN LOCATED ON ROUTE 7 AT BAN BUNG, TO BE DESTROYED AS A
RESULT OF AIR STRIKES.
MISSION READOUT:
UE 731/1, 18 JANUARY 1966, REVEALS A BY-PASS UNDER CONSTRUCTION JUST
SOUTH OF THE DESTROYED BAI XAI HIGHWAY BRIDGE SOUTHEAST OVER THE NAM XAN
(RIVER) ON ROUTE 7. GROUND SCARRING INDICATES THE USE OF EARTH MOVING
EQUIPMENT TO EXTEND THE BY-PASS ROAD FROM BOTH BANKS OF THE NAM XAN. THE
CENTER OF THE RIVER REMAINS OPEN AT THIS TIME. A PROBABLE FORD IS LOCATED
TWO HUNDRED YARDS SOUTH OF THE BY-PASS UNDER CONSTRUCTION, AND A SERVICEABLE
FORD IS LOCATED ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY YARDS NORTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.
