(1)2. The power plant in Konin was completed in 1960. Its source of Power is lignite,
which is mined in the district. The plant possibly will be expanded because of
the aluminum production in Konin. (See below).
3. The paper and glucose plant at Konin will cover an area of 180 hectars; con-
tain a cubic area of 2,500,000 cubic meters; and consist of two or three large
halls, each measuring 500 by 40 meters. Plans for the plant had as of September
1962 reached the technical stage--wherein decisions are made concerning the
types of machinery to be used and their placement within the plant.
4. Plans for the plant of electrolytic production of aluminum had reached the
technical stage as of September 1962, and preparatory excavations had begun.
The project planners calculated that the plant would reach an annual produc-
tion of 100,000 tons of aluminum. This production is intended to supplement
the production of a similar plant in Nowa Huta. An architect, named DOMANSKI
