1 Two similar naval vessels, fast patrol boats, were observed
in Stralsund at point 10 of Sketch 1. About 15 meters long
,and with a smooth deckline,,they had a short pole mast located
approximately fore of midships. :In.the mast was, a radar under
a dome (EGG CUP). A light gun was on the stern and presumably.
torpedo tubes, or similar objects, were on both, sides an mid-
ships. No numbers or names were observed.

2. The shipyard and slipway north of the bridge over the south
canal are indicated at point 3 of Sketch 1.
At this yard the following ships were observed:
a. A tugboat, Soviet registration,

3. At VE B Volkswerft south of the city, eight ships, all similar and
presumably TROPIK trawlers, were observed in various stages of com-
pletion. The name on one of the ships was RLUPKA;

be a decrease in activity at the yard because of the lack of new
con8truction orders. The ships under construction.have a complete

6. Sketch 2 shows the routd of ship. In both entering and
leaving, the route via the south canal was used and not the Usual
reute via the'northern harbor entrance, the'reason. given was that
the ship's draft connot be accommodated on the northern route. ,In
the approach, the ship was at anchor in front of the bridge over
tbe south canal.
