Approximately 3,000 radiation intensity measuring devices developed by VEB Funkwerk Koepenick, as of October 1961, were produced and delivered. After test use, all of these devices were recalled in July and August 1962. 2. As of September 1962, the design of the device had been subjected to some modifications. In the new execution, the indicator tube is no longer built into the device in a fixed position. It may now be manipulated outside the device in a protected plug which is connected with the device by a shielded cable. Furthermore, in its new form the device has been fitted with newer type transistors, diodes, and rectifiers, and the battery has been enlarged by one voltage cell (Spannungszelle). The new type is called Strahlungsintensitaet- Messgeraet A 3 (Radiation Intensity Measuring Device A 3). Attachment: a circuitry diagram of the 50X1-HUM modified version of the device.
