APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TEPITATIV,B!~5OX1-HUM ~1 The 'following unidentified military installatit~ns were observed in Krakow 50X1-HUM with.a barbed-wire fence extending beyond the building. The guard posted in front of the building wore a blue uniform .on .8 March.l961, but two days later,'he and a second guard, posted between the building and .the fence, wore khaki uniforms. No military activity was observed.l On ul. Montelupich: a road between barracks. The guard in front of the northern block wore a khaki uniform. No military activity was ;observed. Other installations on this street included a 1-story house with a small garden in front, guarded by an elderly, unarmed, soldier wearing a blue uniform; a 1-story barracks, apparently used .as a depot; concrete walls, with a paratrooper posted as a guard in .between them. On 10 March 1961 a paratrooper drove a military truck-past the guard.2 On ul. Warszawska: a ~+-story building in front of which a guard wearing a khaki uniform and cap with red .band was posted on lO.March 1961. No military activity was observed. -Other installations in .the block included a firing range, a stand, a civilian-occupied building with an inscription which seemed-to indicate that a technical school was located there, and another building probably also belonging to a technical school.3 On ul. Ra,jska: a 3-story building resembling ,a prewar German .barracks, On.ul. Prandoty Ion 10 March 1961, two soldiers in .khaki uniforms and winter caps drove in from .the north i:n a military truck with .trailer. The truck was loaded with equiplnent,? the trailer, which .was half the length of the truck .and about two meters hi h had. smooth metal sides and-a tarpaulin cover which bulged on top. ~~~? In the evenings of the early part of March, the streets were mainly filled with paratroopers (city map of Krakow showing the locations of the installations described above. Rough sketches of the immediate locations of installations are also attached.
