An increase above the normal in the vole of Soviet transports passing through the FRANKFURT/Oder area in February 1959 was not maintained in March, when traffic reverted to normal. 3. During the first fortnight of March, however, there was a considerable increase above normal in the volume of Soviet troops and equipm;:nt loaded in FRt?,NKFURT/0der (ex transit barracks)[ -iihich wore then attached, 4 or 6 25X1 at a time, to scheduled goods trains running to various destinations in East Germany.
