a. On 1 October 1958, Prof. Dr. Heinrich Bertsch, formerly head of 'I r
the Academy Institute of Organic Chemistry and a professor at
Humboldt University, East Berlin, replaced Prof. Dr. Maximilian
Pfluecke as head of the Institute of Documentation. His deputy
is Dr. Josef Koblitz.
b. The Institute of Documentation absorbed the former Central Office
Of Scientific Literature (Zentralstelle fuer wissenschaftliche
Literatur - ZWL) and the Editorial Staff of Argricultural
Publications (Redaktion des landwirtschaftliches Zentralblattes)
in 1957, shortly after its inception. The work includes co-
operation with special documentation departments on general
matters, and the collection and documentation of material for
special areas without doci-,mentation departments of their on.
II. Structure of the Institute of Documentation
a. The official address of the Institute is Berlin NW 7, Schiffbauerdanmi
19. Some of the sections of the Institute are located at Berlin N 4,
Chausseestrasse 113, and Berlin W 8, Unter den Linden (in the State
Library building).
b. The Institute is divided into the following categories (Bereiche):
