Rocket-firing - Vessels.
Winter 955
Two rooket-firing vessels (which are known by sailors
as 7GEbI0'''~= HIPPOPOTAMUS) were seen at BAtLTIISK
during the winter of 1955? They had 2 low funnels behind the 25X1
bridge, a short mast on the bridge and 4 cranes on the foredeck.
Inot see any rocket launchers, but
each vessel oafried 4 or 5 which were hidden under canvas.

Each vessel was -said to carry a crew of 120 men.
these 25X1
vessels were usually stationed near KHAAPSALU (HAAPSALU or
between KHAAPSALU and PYA IU (P NU).
2. The rocket-firing vessels are not ustd to repel landings
but only against land targets.
