1. Air raid shelters are under construction at Ostrava. The construction site is
in the suburbs of Ostrava, near the Ostravice River and the road from Slezska
Ostrava to Bohumin. The shelters are located under a hill consisting of masses
of rocks and piles of earth broughrtfrom nearby mines. The construction of these
shelters began in 1954 and had dot yet been completed by spring 1955. The work
was being done by a Pilsen firm. When completed, this shelter will accommodate as
many as 2,000 persons.
