Levice N 48-13, E 18-36 Construction of the plant, which is
actually located near the village of Tlmace, began in 1948. The plant
is equipped to build and repair boilers, and it also makes armor,-
plating for tanks and covered cockpits for aircraft. About 2,000
employees work at the plant.,

The " Sergeje Miranovice Kirov
el plant.

This plant is located east of T]mace village on
the Hron river. Tlmac is bisected by the Zvolen - Ievice
railroad line.
The plant is about one kilometer from Tlmace.
Pertinent reference points in locating this factory follow:
bounded on the west by the Zlate Moravice - Ievice provincial
road and by the Zlate Moravice - Ievice railroad line. The
village of Irbnik is to the east, while the village of Kosmarovice
lays to the south-west. Two roads, one to the north and the other
to the southbound the plant while the Hron river running in a
north-south direction is about two kilometers to the most.
Construction began in 1948 after the February 1948
events. The workshops are equipped to build and repair boilers,
and they also make military items such as armor plating for tanks,
and covered cockpits for aircraft.

that measures 80 by 12 meters. Entrance to the interior
of the plant is made through this building.
2. Reinforced concrete shed - measuring 60 by 20 by 10
meters. This is the O4 training worksh$p for the
factory employees. The following machinery is set up in
this shed s

1 steel-plate press capable of handling - up to
16 milimeters.
3. apprentice school
Of masonry construction, this school covers an over-
all area of 400 square meters ( 20 meters by 20).
4. Boiler shop no. 1 : a reinforced concrete shed that
measures 200 meters by 30 by 10 meters. The shop has two
operating sub-divisions, a and b.

8 new presses, CKD-Prague manufacture.
1 traveling crane that can be transferred to any part
of the area.

5. Boiler shop no. 2
A reinforced concrete shed that measures 200 meters by
30 by 14 meters. This shop has about 10 presses and one tra-
velling crane.
6. A building with steel walls and a tile roof that measures
40 meters by 15 meters. It is used as a storehouse for tools
and materiel,

7. Transformer shop : of 25,000 volts.
Electric power comes from Banska Bistrica.

9. Workshop ; that measures 250 meters by 50 meters.

part of the workers.
Control of this plant is exercised directly by the Ministry

of Machinery Construction locate in Prague.
Management
The previous plant manager was Josef Betko who was removed
on political grounds in 1951.
The present plant manager is Jan Hromado, a Czech
Prior managers were Slovaks, but they have all been removed. The
entire executive staff is composed solely of Czech communists.

Personnel
There are about 2,000 employes Iand of these, 400 perform
administrative jobs, additional
workers and employes are to be hired - with a maximum goal set
at 6,000 individuals.
Production
The plant commenced production towards the end of 1950.
Steam boilers for ships produced. Upon
completion the boilers were shipped to the Komarno shipyards.
This shipyard# produces little else but river craft for
traffic on the Volga - Don canal.
large steam boilers ( three a month) are shipped to
the USSR. These boilers are 20 meters long and four meters
high, while their steel plates are 18 m ~limeters thick.
They are shipped to the USSR by way of Komarno port. Boilers
are also built for other bloc countries, especially for Poland
and Rumania.
Raw materiel
Steel plates are supplied by the Klement Gottwald factory.
Most of these plates come in widths of 8, )2$ 16, and 18 mi -
meters.
Transportation and road facilities
The plant is connected by a railroad spur(12) to the
station at Welke Kozmarovice. Tracks from this spur lead to
shedf2j 4, and 5. The plant has three locomotives.
A road section joins the administration building with the
levice - Zlate Morava state highway (13). South of this high-
way is an airfield (14),
Police and security details
40 men in the factory militia; 4 of these militia are

on guard duty continuously. They are armed with 7.65 caliber
pistols and also with
Factory guards : these guards are on duty at the entrance-
gate to the plant. They wear a black uniform and carry 7.65
caliber pistols.
