Horses and camels were used. as pink animas in areas Which were inaccessible to trucks. 6. The /MS conOirtd, contained storehouses, garages, and 'shops, all of which were one-storh-flat-roofed adobe structures except for one new, brick-constructed., repair shop which had a pitched. roof. (See sketch of the MTS 50X1-HUM grounds in Dzhanybek, page a .) the machinery in this repair* shop was old. and needed_constant maintenance. The Shop was not eguiPped with a crane for removing tractor motors, but, instead had an improvised tripod. rig ifor accomplishing this phase of motor repair work. Electric power was generated for the MS by a 514?HP diesel engine. 50X1-HUM Security measures were nominal at the tras and the duty a the 50X1-HUM on guard was- to check vehicles in and. out. 8. During August every year, students and factory workers from as far north as Manny and ia far south as Astrakhan came to the Dzhanybek area to help harvest the grain crops.
