1. In early October 1954,
the mining or radioactive coal in the so-called Schachtkombina50xi -HUM
of the Object would cease, and the mines would be turned over for exploitation
by the Germans as nationalized concerns (VEB9s). On the other hand,
special
UVOUb were to os installea in tne ore concentration plant of the Object at 50X1-HUM
Dresden-Gittersee? capable of reducing the radioactive coal to ash without
pollution of the atmosphere, as was the case previously.
2. The new chief of Object 96, Balanl, shows no interest in the mining activitie-
of Object 96, which he leaves in the hands of the chief of Schacht 269. E.K. 50X1-HUM
Kuznetsov.
BaLlan has had long experience of ore concentration in East
Germany in one of the other lismut Objects.

3. All surplus mining equipment and additional contingents of miners from Object
96 have been transferred to Object 6 at Auerbach.
