Any -man who can. afford more than one suit always buys suits which are exactly
alike, since the militia. -would become suspicious of 'anyone who could afford
more than one suit. Inhabitants are even cautious about going to cafes,
restaurants, or ice cream Parlors more frequently than their known income
would appear to allow.
