On September 8, 1950, the Director of Central Intelligence reported that (a) a draft statement of requirements was undergoing internal CIA coordination to be completed by September 15, 1950; (b) prelimin- ary surveys of Army, Navy and Air Force facilities relating to the production of economic intelligence had been received; and (c) plans in collaboration with the Bureau of the Budget were in preparation for a survey of governmental economic facilities outside the Defense Department. Accordingly, CIA and Budget agreed to execute these projects jointly. The Foreign Service survey is now in draft form but the commodity specialist survey has been delayed.
