10 July 1950
Mr. Drew 17, Kohl er
Territory
Thank you very much for your letter of 3 July 1950.
It is always good to hear from old shipmates.
I sincerely appreciate t1 trouble you have taken in
writing to the HONOLULU ADVMZS R expressing your confidence
in me. one can t abe a lot of beatings as long as the 1mowl~
edge is present that at least som of the old and valued
associates still have confidence.
Captain Goggins is here in Washington now and we see
each other frequently. The old abasement" days are always
remenbeied. You, no doubt, have heard that he is now
retired.
Again, let me thank you for your letter and your
continued confidence.
With warmest personal regards, please believe me,
Sincerely,
Dist:
