Dear Mr. Dulles:
Reference is made to your telephone call of June 24, 1952,
to this office, wherein you advised that onel had 25X1
arrived at New York City and had been questioned by either the
Federal Bureau of Investigation or representatives of a Congres-
sional Committee.

We are now in receipt of information thati was 25X1
questioned by representatives of the Senate Subcommittee on Internal
Security in Executive Session on Sunday, June 22, 1952, at 9:40 a.m.,
in the United States Customs Office, Idlewild Airport, New York City,
with Senator Arthur V. Watkins presiding. A copy of the transcript
of testimony given at this executive Session has been
transmitted to the Department from Senator McCarran's office.
A review of the. transcript reveals that therein
states, amon other things, a that there were two conferencep
at which he, and Mr. John Paton Davies were
present; b :That at o' of these conferences, in addition to
himself; and Davies, there were also present another
representative of the State Department, and two or
sentatives of the CIA, one of the latter being his
immediate supervisor at that time; (p) that after each of the two
conferences, memoranda were written for Central Intelligence files,
concerning what had transpired and that one of the two memoranda
had been written by band the other by himself.
It will be appreciated if, at your earliest convenience,
you would advise the Department whether the other CIA represen-
tatives whom says attended the conferences in addition to
himself and are available for interview. In addition,
