STAT STAT STAT STAT Lieutenant General Vernon Walters Deputy Director Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D.C. 20505 From my Army protocol duties in New York City (Fort Hamilton) to being the Editor of the Defense Management Journal has been quite a quieting experience, but an enjoyable one. My opportunities to provide you assistance while visiting or transiting NYC were memorable experiences, especially the 1969 visit of the then Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Michel M.L. Fourquet, and the time Pan Am lost your oversea flight reservations. My purpose in writing is to introduce Jdue for separation 15 September,, who has interviewed for an editor's position with the Agency. His contact has been and resulted from an initial interview conducted at the Crystal City Marriott job fair. has completed the necessary application forms. He is well qualified as a journalist and could be of value to the Agency in its program. I recommend him for your consideration and subsequent employment with the Agency. Sincerely, BERT F. GOERLICH Major, USA Editor Approved For RelMse 2003/08/25: CIA-RDP80R01731 Approved For Release 2003/08/25 : CIA-RDP80R01731 R001900080050-3 ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE WASHINGTON, D.C. 20301
