Hillenkoetter Director of Central Intelligence 2430 E Street, NW Washington, D. C. Dear Admiral Hillenkoettert As you may know, our next course at the Armed Forces staff college begins on 2 September 1947. I have taken the privilege of including you as a guest speaker early in the course as I an most anxious that our student'body initially acquire a sound concept of intelligence on the national and departmental level. I have scheduled your lecture for 1030 on 4 September. Should this time and date conflict with any other commitments you may have, I shall gladly make the revisions necessary to suit your convenience. In lieu of repeating our first course program, in which we invited the heads of Army, Navy, and Army Air Intelligence to address the College, I should prefer to have you analyze the broad intelligence functions of the departments as well as snythesize national intelli-r gence requirements. With this background, which you are so well equipped to give them, the students would have a full appreciation of the basic intelligence data which they are likely to be furnished at theater level. I trust-that-you, will find it'possible to accept this invitation to visit us. You will be assured of an intelligent, appreciative audi- ence., many of whom will leave here to accept responsible positions on joint or unilateral staffs. The favor of an early reply would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, /8/ Delos C. Emmons DE[ OS C. EMMONS L:[EUTENANT GENERAL, US ARMY 2 Inclos'ureat COMMANDANT 1. Prospectus, AFSC 2.
