SUBJECT: Dissemination of CIA Estimates
Containing Policy Assumptions
From time to time the National Security Council or
its Staff requests the Central Intelligence Agency to prepare
estimates based on certain assumptions with respect to U. S.
policy or U. S. courses of action. In the interests of secur-
ity it is considered desirable to restrict knowledge of these
policy assumptions to those Departments and Agencies repre-
sented on the National Security Council.
It is therefore requested that CIA estimates based
on his type of assumption be disseminated only to the named
recipients of the CIA Daily Summary.
