Dear Karl:
Thank you for your lsiter of 9 July. I think it
is very likely that this propaganda move has some
Communist backing although it might atom from the
extreme Right in the country of the origin of the
letters. Several copies similar to the one you re-
ceived have been brought to my ittentioa and I am
taking the matter up discreetly through ,arts own people
abroad with the Services ms*tiened and also will be
discussing it with the FBI.
It was good of you to bring this to my attention
and when I need see you I shall let you know whether we
have been able to get at the bottom of this sinister
activity.
