I have given a good deal of thought to your memorandum
of 24 April 1956, on the su ject of a national policy on counter intel-
ligeuce.
I called you today and found that you would be out of town for
the next few days and I am writing to suggest that upon your return you
dive me a call so that we can fix a time when we can get together as I
should like to get a little more of the background of your thinking and,
if it is available, the JCS memorandum. on the subject.
