Approved For Release 2006/10/31 : CIA-RDP80Ru1'?-31'R00030008 /l-/,a N ~ I L1' T Cu `- Mr. Dulles asked me to acknowledge and thank you for your letter of 16 February 1959 concerning employment with the Central Intelligence Agency following your retirement. As you probably know, we are limited by law to the number of officers (15) of the Armed Services we can employ who are retired for longevity. At the present time all of these exempted positions are occupied or reserved for incumbents already selected. However, there may be one or two other possibilities which we are exploring and I shall get in touch with you further at an early date. I see very few of our old contemporaries from the G?2 days although we have several here in the Agency. I heard from General Bissell about ten years ago and at that time he was teaching mathematics at Sewanee. I hope that he does not rap his students on the head as frequently as he beat on Jack White and me! Incidentally, Jack is assigned to SHAPE Headquarters. It was good to hear from you again and I hope we can work something out. Sincerely. 0 O`DCI Distribu ion: I3 Mar 59 Or-iginal > Addressee 6,11 DCI I r? ER w/basic 1 .. JSE 1 ?? FE !; D I,N F
